Popular Bangla Song Singer Nakul Kumar Biswas is a widely popular singer of Bangladesh whose songs touch the ordinary life of people.

Family life of Nakul Kumar Biswas:

Nakul Kumar Biswas was born in a family which is related to practices of music. His home district is the village of ‘South Kolagasia’ in the ‘Kendua Union’ of Madaripur district. He is the youngest among five brothers and a sister. His father was Shurendro Nath Bisshash and mother Srimoti Mongoli Debi. Bangladeshi Singer Nakul Kumar has a happy home with his wife and two children – a son named Polok Kumar Biswas and a daughter named Prottasha Bisshash.

His walk in the world of Bangla music:

Nakul Kumar Biswas came into Gopalgonj in 1975 with his elder brother Hiralal Bisshash with an intention to make an opportunity of performing in theatre ‘Dipali opera’ as a child artist and he got the chances. In the audition room, baby Nakul Kumar sang songs one by one in his sweet tone with playing harmonium by his own hand. He surprised the people who were present in the audition room at that day.

Bangladeshi Singer Nakul Kumar learned the lessons of ‘Rag’ music in harmonium from Ronjit Dai, a master of music in Madaripur. He completed his lessons in just six months and then selected as a harmonium teacher in a school. He heard about world famous ‘shetar’ player Pondit Robishonkor from his master Ashu Miah. Nakul was determined to be like him. Bangladeshi Singer Nakul Kumar went to Kolkata in 1980 with only 500 taka in his pocket to chase his dream. There with the help of Shuvash Bisshas, he reached to the grandson of Ostad Mostak Ali Khan and learned ‘Shetar’ from him. He bought a ‘Shetar’ with 280 taka and came back in the country.

He started acting, dancing and singing in different programs after coming back in the country and won the heart of spectators. In 1983 he came to Dhaka with an aim to be an artist in Bangladesh Betar and Television and took shelter in the cracked balcony of Ostad Amanullah Khan. He also learned some lessons from Ostad.

In that year Bangladeshi Singer Nakul Kumar Biswas got the opportunity to play solo harmonium in a classical music program of ‘Bisshow – shahittyo Kendro’, he charmed everyone with his presentation. Not only that, the chairperson of ‘Bisshow – Shahittyo Kendro’ Professor Abdullah Abu Saeed rewarded him 1000 taka from the fund of the association. At that period of time, he found a job in Bangladesh Betar but could not stable in there. In 1986 he again returned to his home district to appear in the SSC examination. Nakul also planned to collect some songs from a ‘Kobial’. When Kobial refused to give him his songs, Nakul decided to write himself. From that on he never sang any songs written by others. 

He returned to Dhaka after passing the SSC exam. Nakul Kumar released his first solo album titled ‘Vagobot pore vogoban ke paisoni’; the album became commercially successful. And he continued his studies with singing. In 1996, he sang a song in the hugely popular program ‘Ittadi’; the song named ‘Dada biya korlam ken’ and it brought her immense familiarity. Afterwards he had presented his songs in ‘Ittadi’ for consecutive ten years. In the meantime Nakul’s songs were gaining popularity in the audio market of Kolkata. Two of his solo albums were released from the audio company of West Bengal ‘JMD’; these are – ‘Nadian Nakul’ in 2001 and ‘Chakri nai buro babar’ in 2003. So far almost fifty albums of Nakul are released from both Bangladesh and India.

Working life of Nakul Kumar Biswas:

Nakul Kumar Biswas’s musical career started at the age of eight through joining in the theatre as a child artist. At that time he performed song in many programs in village and city areas. He is skilled in playing many instruments such as ‘Shetar’, ‘Tobla’, ‘Flute’, ‘Shorod’, ‘Shontur’, ‘Dotara’, ‘Mandalin’ etc. he has special skills in playing Harmonium. Nakul had been in service of Bangladesh Betar as an instrument player for long. His career flourished through participating and performing in the popular magazine program ‘Ittadi’.

Nakul Kumar Biswas’s work:

Popular Bangla Song Singer Nakul Kumar Biswas became popular in all segments of music production. He is known as a vocalist, instrument player, music composer, music director and song writer. Nakul released his first solo album in the Eid – Ul – Fitr of 1987; the album titled ‘Concord Volume – 1’ and it was released from the production house concord enterprise. With that fifty of his albums has been published so far. Nakul Kumar is matchless in his rhythmic presentation. He presented the program named ‘Chondo anondo’ and it rated first among all the magazine programming the television rating point. ‘Chondo anondo’ is the first program in this sub continent which is totally presented by rhythms.
